Course Description

This one day course is designed for those individuals new to the use of the tactical shotgun, or those looking to refresh their basic skills. This course will stress the basic functions for the safe and effective use of the tactical shotgun. Note: We do not break for lunch, however, there are natural breaks during the day to eat and hydrate.

Skills Covered (but not limited to)

Basic functions and safety
Loading/unloading
Firing stance/managing recoil
Carry positions
Patterning
Malfunction clearing
Reloading (tactical, combat)
Weapon transitions
Select slug/ammunition swap
Positional shooting (standing, kneeling, sitting, prone, and use of cover)

Required Equipment

Tactical shotgun (pump or semi-auto)
Sling for shotgun
150 rounds birdshot
150 rounds 00 buckshot
25 rounds slug ammunition
Handgun and 3 magazines
100 rounds of pistol ammunition
Holster and magazine pouches for pistol
Eye and ear protection



Recommended additional equipment

Dump pouch or other means to carry additional shotgun ammo
Hat or head covering
Note taking materials (pen and paper)
Personal water supply
Snacks/bag lunch
Knee and elbow pads
